Eco-friendly wedding flowers

Akua and Angus' big day was a beautiful celebration of their heritage, love and family. They met at university, where their friendship soon became into something truly special. For their wedding, they both wanted to incorporate elements of their personalities and cultural backgrounds, blending the two unique heritages they come from.

Their flowers were vibrant and full of life, spreading cheer and warmth. We added a special touch with monochromatic bridesmaid bouquets to bring extra depth and interest. Multiple different flowers were used to create this effect, with some of the blooms also woven into Akua's bouquet. To further honour her heritage, Akua’s family sourced Kente-printed fabric, which we used to create the ribbon for her bouquet.

Angus chose to wear tartan-printed trousers and a tie, which we complemented with a thistle in his buttonhole and colours that matched his outfit.

The ceremony took place at the City Church in Cardiff, a stunning, multicultural celebration filled with laughter, joy and love. We created a grand floral arch on the stage, finishing the look with meadow arrangements at the front of the stage, bringing nature into the space, including mainly locally grown flowers and foliage. After the ceremony, all the flowers were transferred to Sant Ffraed House, where they decorated the bar area.

The tables featured simple bud vases with a minimalist design, reflecting the monochromatic theme, similar to the bridesmaids' bouquets.

KIND THOUGHTS

"Dorina did such an amazing job with the flowers for our late summer wedding!
We were able to share our vision with her for our day and she was on board from the start, helping us find solutions to the trickier aspects of logistics and planning - she was so professional and kind throughout and there was no question too small for her to answer. She is so knowledgeable about what she does and her love for her work is visible in everything - from buttonholes to dramatic floral arches!"
